Warm hospitality, tastefully decorated rooms, great location –
We stayed 3 nights at Te Puru Lodge and really enjoyed our stay.
The owners made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home, and were very happy to help us with various bookings (fishing trips, mountain bike rentals, etc.), while kindly arranging a BBQ of the snappers we caught in the Firth of Thames. Hospitality also included a very nice welcome dinner on the first evening.
The property contains 3 suites that are located right on the beach with beautiful views of the Firth of Thames. All the suites are tastefully decorated and came with 5-star hotel amenities (soaps, bedlinen, non-alcoholic drinks, etc.), while there was a great breakfast offering. Being near Thames, Te Puru Lodge is also a great location to visit many parts of the Coromandel peninsula (including Kaueranga nature reserve, Hauraki rail trail), while being an easy 75 mins drive from Auckland.
We really miss staying at the lodge and look forward to coming back during our next visit to New Zealand.
